The Shipping Forecast is the best way, in my opinion to learn about the geography of England. Yes. Yes, it is. The soothing timbre of the announcer’s voice will take you to the following places (and more) during the shipping forecast: Viking, Forties, Dogger, Dover and Lundy. Essentially, it is a bulletin for fishermen and sailors. Its purpose is to inform and update those brave sailors, fishermen and others, about the current existing weather conditions…and it is also for those of us who remotely care about British weather- which is pretty much the entire nation. Yup.
