Hello and hi. The nation is waking up today and are beyond grateful to Andy Murray. Murray won his SECOND Wimbledon title yesterday with a 6-4 7-6 7-6 victory over Canadian Milos Raonic. In the finish, he buried his face in his towel and wept like a woman who just got a pair of Mulberry boots, she had wanted for a long time. If you have absolutely NO idea of what I am even talking about-just know that I just made a reference to my good self.
In winning Wimbledon, Murray lifted the nation from the fugue state it had entered over the EU referendum results and the periously plummeting pound. Even some zoo keepers in England took a break, in searching for a certain escaped Lynx from a zoo earlier in the week-just to appreciate and soak in Murray’s Wimbledon win. Thank you Andy Murray, THANK YOU.
Truth be told, this recent era in British sport has been positively breathtaking. This includes a record breaking haul from the Olympics, a FIRST Tour de France win and then two more, Ryder Cups WON both home and away, Lions series and now, Murray winning Wimbledon TWICE. I mean, a men’s singles title at Wimbledon is something that few even remember. Men have tried and failed and we have waited decades for a Wimbledon win-but no longer.
Murray was hugging that gold trophy so tightly, that one could not see where the trophy ended and his body began. It was quite apparent that he had no intention of letting go…ever. As you can see, Andy took that trophy everywhere…even while having an ice bath post Wimbledon. Well done Andy Murray. We are so very proud of you!
As per tradition, after Wimbldeon, there was a massive party for all the winners-The Wimbledon Champions Dinner. As you can see, our Andy cleans up pretty good. In addition, Kim’s dress was far better than that Ronald McDonald-Big Bird dress she wore earlier. Sorry Kim, but that yellow dress was no bueno.

Here are some other pictures from the party…
Ukranian 7th seed, Dayana Yastremska looks older than 16, in my opinion
Anastasia Potapova wore a beautiful dress but I think she had just popped in to the party, for a few minutes, upon leaving her own wedding. Not judging.
A good time was had by all at the Wimbledon Champions Dinner. Congratulations again Andy Murray!
