Who is Rory McIlroy?

Rory McIlroy is a Northern Irish professional golfer from Holywood in County Down who is a member of both the European and PGA Tours. He is the current World Number One and a four-time major champion, winning the 2011 U.S Open with a tournament record lowest score under par, 2012 PGA Championship with a tournament record eight strokes victory margin, 2014 Open Championship, and 2014 PGA Championship. He is the first European to win three different majors, and with Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods is one of three to win three majors by the age of 25. I mean, you might find the above interesting IF you like golf. Now on to the good stuff about him.

Not that long ago, Rory was engaged to be married. He is 26 after all and it was high time he got hitched. His fiancé was a Danish tennis player Caroline Wozniacki (which does not sound Danish to me but hey, we live in a Global Village). Anyway, wedding invitations were MAILED then Rory pulled the plug. OMG. Awkward. He did say he was not ready for marriage and all it entails and that ‘the problem was all mine’ so mad props for not stringing the poor girl along then divorcing her 18 months later…. but AFTER the invites were sent out? Not cool Rory. In any case, they did not walk down the aisle. Here is the moment he told her the bad news:

Discussion: In a brief statement, the golfer said he was making the announcement publicly after talking to Wozniacki. The pair were pictured talking in Sloane Square, London, last week (pictured)

But some say the REAL reason he broke it off with her was because he was rather cross with her for posting a picture of him when he was asleep on her Twitter feed. Oh Caroline. Girl, you should have not done that. But what’s done is done. Here is the infamous picture:

It is understood Rory and Caroline had a row when the tennis ace posted a picture on Twitter of him asleep

Just looking at the picture makes me want to take a nap. For real.

Cheers Y’all
