Chickens in the UK

Everyone in England seems to have chickens.  Now I want some.  Apparently, chickens are capable of empathy.  Now, that is what I am talking about. Chickens as you know lay eggs. Some hens lay one egg a day.  If you do decide to get chickens you will need to register them with DARD (Department of Agriculture and Rural Development).  Also, when your chickens lay eggs (and they will) and this is your purpose for keeping them, you can sell the eggs at the farm gate, door to door or to markets. Or you can just eat them.  If you want to keep chickens for meat, you should go to KFC.  But seriously, you should contact the Humane Slaughter Association to get all the rules and regulations if you want to go down this route.

Sadly, I will be unable to get chickens as foxes regularly prowl my garden.  And foxes LOVE chickens.  So, the foxes in my garden will have to be content with the fish skins and other food waste that I throw out. And that is no fish story-if you know what I mean.

Cheers Y’all

Don’t worry about KFC, they make their chickens with fake chicken meat-shark or whale meat
